The Crossref Preprint Advisory Group recently put [forward some some recommendations](https://www.crossref.org/working-groups/preprints/) about how to improve preprint metadata. We wanted them to be relatively brief and easily digestible, but there was also a lot of background discussions that we thought the community would benefit from. We’ve therefore put together a longer document including a lot more of the background to how the recommendations came about and areas that still need some more thought.
